Evidence-Based Genealogy Through Research, Analysis, and Education

Combining traditional documentary research, DNA evidence, engineering principles, and modern technology to solve genealogical questions and help genealogists become more effective researchers..

Welcome

Welcome to Wilder-Use Genealogy, where genealogy is approached through evidence, analysis, and education.

I’m David Use, a genealogist, educator, and speaker with a background in engineering and decision analysis. For more than two decades I’ve explored how structured analytical methods can strengthen genealogical research.

My work combines documentary research, DNA analysis, artificial intelligence, and structured reasoning to solve complex family history questions while helping others become more effective researchers.

Whether I’m teaching at Colorado Mountain College, presenting to genealogy organizations, or assisting with a challenging research problem, I strive to bring clarity, evidence, and thoughtful analysis to genealogy.

My Research Philosophy

Reliable genealogical conclusions depend not only on finding records, but on asking good questions, evaluating evidence carefully, and communicating conclusions honestly.

Every research project involves uncertainty. My goal is to use documentary evidence, DNA, structured reasoning, and transparent methodology to reach conclusions that are as well supported as the available evidence allows.
